Blogging 101

This course was very enjoyable for me, I was able to grow as a writer and blogger. My most enjoyable project was the Linkedin assignment due to the fact that jobs actually emailed me after seeing my page that I updated.

My blog followers were also able to keep up with me via twitter to see what my daily rants were about.

I also enjoyed the green screen project because I was able to use my favorite thing, green screen magic. Myself along with Jordan and Laron decided to take a time warp back to the 90's to star on the hit show It's a Different World!

This course has pushed me creatively when it was time to create my Vine, 6 seconds isn't a lot of time so you have to be very clever in what you decide to do.

Kizao is a movie maker meshed together with power point features. It's good for interactive fun presentations such as the Bulldog Scavenger Hunt.

Kizao

Lastly  Prezi.  It's a major step up from power point presentations. It forces the user to be more visual, which I enjoy. However actually using it is a bit tough when its time to create your pathways. After a while I became a little frustrated but I still created my top 10 Beyonce' music videos.

I also had the freedom to say what I wanted to on certain topics. I definitely plan to blog in the future, its a good way to clear your mind and document events that are worth sharing! I hope everyone takes advantage of this class and the possible opportunities.

What is LinkedIn?

  • LinkedIn gives each user the opportunity to build a professional online résumé it gives each user the ability to stay in contact with classmates, colleagues and direct access to job opportunities.
  • According to Business Insider 31.2% of LinkedIn users are between the ages of 25-34 years old. LinkedIn is the same format of FaceBook except is strictly for business purposes, it's a virtual résumé constantly gives updated. LinkedIn is so popular because top companies such as IBM, HP, Microsoft, Accenture, Google, Oracle, Deloitt, Apple, Dell, Cisco use it to find potenial employees.
  • Features that I enjoy about Linkedin is the layout, it's not too cluttered and everything is easily accessible and readable. I like the idea of putting your aspirations next to your profile picture because that is the first thing that companies see, along with your professional picture. Lastly, I enjoy the endorsement option, having people endorse your skills and talent's speak volume to your potential employer.
  • While viewing other LinkedIn accounts I noticed that majority of them were the same, following the LinkedIn format, I did stumble across a page and the user had her LSAT scores posted. Another page had a direct link to his most current project. I believe that accounts with a strong paragraph discussing their experience is awesome, nothing to cluttered because it won't be visually appealing.
  • On my LinkedIn my goal is to show that I am well versed in the Broadcasting field, I also want to covey that while excelling in school I am member of various organizations and I'm an advocate for community service. I will show poteinal job opportunites that I am well versed and I am able to juggle mulitple jobs flawlessly.
